The flipped classroom inverts traditional teaching methods, delivering instruction online outside of class and moving “homework” into the classroom. In this workshop teachers will learn about the benefits of offering flipped classroom style lessons. Teachers will be introduced to examples and resources for how the flipped classroom model is being applied by teachers around the world. At the end of the session, teachers will be given guidance on how to make their own flipped videos.
Participants will learn the process of using Notability and Dropbox to help students reflect on their learning, and how using the tools in an integrated way to collect formative assessments for teachers.
After taking this workshop, participants will be able to: Link Student Notability creations to Dropbox accounts ; Create systems of organisation to manage content created in Notability.

In this advanced Keynote session you will learn to make your presentation more effective by creating advanced animations using the using magic move, creative transitions, and action tools. Come prepared to learn these tools, which require creativity, patience, and the willingness to learn techniques that will have you spending up to an hour per slide. You must be very comfortable with Keynote or you will be lost in this session. There will be an introduction to the techniques and then an opportunity to explore their uses and build you own slides. Come and get your geek on!
Requirements: Strong Keynote skills, a willingness to put in a lot of time to get the result you want Recommendation: Bring a presentation you would like to enhance.
I will share my experiences using MacBook and iPad with lower elementary students. We will look into Essential Agreements for students prior to using a new expensive device and how to balance their time with the use of the technology. I will introduce applications/programs and instructional ideas that have been successful in my classes.
This workshop will show strategies such as flipping the classroom, allowing students to create essential questions, and socratic seminars to allow the students to take ownership of their learning and therefore having them become independent learners. But first we will discuss ways to create a classroom where the students will buy into them being part of the process and want to be part of the class not just a visitor.
This non-professional (but highly valuable!) workshop will focus on the frequent flyer who wants to learn the basics of how to collect and spend miles while flying. We will go over the basics of the airline alliances, and will cover strategies for how to set yourself up to maximize your travel awards.

We will be teaching ways to musically manage beginnings, transitions and endings in the elementary classroom at all levels. Focus will be on healthy ways to use music as a tool to engage students in learning outside of the music classroom. We will address all ages of elementary student in this active session.
This is an opportunity for those who teach Korean language from ES to HS. We can come and share ideas or lessons to get together and discuss how to organize, prepare and open the school events as like the speech contest or the writing contest. It is effective at getting students to participate actively and instructive to develop teaching and learning materials.
I am currently teaching Korean language Art and KAL (Korean as an additional language) at APIS since 2007. I taught Korean to secondary students in Korean domestic high school for 5 years. Teaching is calling to me.

Good games and activities can make students more engaged and the teaching more effective. However, most current games are perfect for younger learners but not middle or high school students. These four class activities/games are selected to explain how they work in my class. They are motivated, matching their psychological characteristic and learning styles, and it is fun definitely. The original Maker Faire attracted over 150,000 people this year and has inspired hundreds of Maker Faires like it around the world in what has been dubbed the "Maker Movement". Progressive educators have connected with the like-minded ideals of: creativity, play, hands-on-learning, community, and a DIY attitude championed by the Maker Movement. The presentation will focus on connecting you with the reasons for building one + the nuts & bots of building it.
Teachers will learn to use Socrative, a free online device-agnostic student response system, to create fun formative assessments such as polls, games, and exit tickets. Teachers will participate in exercises to see Socrative from the student perspective, and then create an exercise to take with them. They will be given tips on reviewing data and streamlining the acitivity-creation process.
